Dr. Larry Lawson, the oncologist who owns and operates Midnight Sun Oncology in Palmer and Homer, was charged last year with income tax evasion.

    “An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.”

    Not only did this guy not pay his taxes he also charged insurance companies, Medicare, etc whatever he wanted for treatments because of a loophole he found in AK law. He called all the other Alaskan Oncologists together and tried to convince them the do the same thing, of course, no other oncologist went along with this as it is extremely unethical.
    This is how Mr. Lawson, an oncologist, pulled in over $10M a year…10X PLUS what any other oncologist in that state makes. Someone should investigate this as our tax dollars paid for his extreme overcharging!
